The

Birth

 Doula

for the birth of your

Wildest Dreams

How does it work?

Your birth space is an incredibly vulnerable, raw, sacred place.

The people in there with you need to be your people…the people you can laugh or cry with, trust and feel safe with.

They know and support your goals, truly see and hear you, and instill invaluable confidence.

They believe in you.

Your doula should feel that way.

During your obligation-free, complimentary consultation, we will make sure that I am your people.

Vibe check, getting to know each other, talking all the delicious birthy details, our philosophies.

By the end, we’ll have a pretty solid feel for one another and confidence in our decision to move forward together.

Your consultation…

Who is your

Earthside Doula?

My beliefs as a radical human and birth nerd…

  • All people have the right to bodily autonomy, unbiased healthcare and basic human necessities.

  • Your body is perfectly designed to carry & give birth to your baby safely.

  • There is always something new to learn & space to grow- anybody who says different is a walking red flag.

  • Birth is not inherently a medical emergency.

  • I would rather have something & not need it VS needing something & not having it.

  • There are two major truths about medical interventions- they can be absolutely necessary & entirely overused.

  • Our bodies carry profound strength & wisdom that runs deeper than we could ever imagine.

  • Making informed decisions with providers you trust is key to preventing trauma.

  • Doulas are advocates. Yes, you should feel confident & capable to advocate for yourself. But if there are moments where you are unable to, your doula needs to take a stand for you.

 FAQs

  • Yes! All that’s needed to reserve your spot in my calendar is the retainer fee; the remaining balance can be made via monthly payments for the remainder of your pregnancy.

  • I do not accept insurance at this time.

  • In my years as a doula, I have supported and will continue to support all kinds of birth. Inductions, home birth, water birth, planned cesareans, I’ve done it all.

That being said, I find that my philosophy and approach aligns best with those hoping to achieve a low-intervention birth and lean into the intrinsic physiology occurring within. There is an intricate, delicate, unseen dance happening below the surface during your labor and birth. Each piece plays an integral part in the holistic process and when those pieces are altered or substituted, things can go a bit cattywampus.

“Many of our problems in US maternity care stem from the fact that we leave no room for recognizing when nature is smarter than we are.”

― Ina May Gaskin, Birth Matters: A Midwife's Manifesta

  • Absolutely not.

I work closely with both you and your birth partner to get a feel for your individual comfort levels in the birth space, goals, fears and what you each expect from me as your doula. Your birth partner is not only welcome, but encouraged to join for our consultation to ensure we’re all compatible. They are also strongly encouraged to be present for each of our meetings so we can work collaboratively when exploring comfort measures, fear clearing, goal setting, decision making and deconstructing “what if” scenarios.

Not only do I work with your partner to better support you during your labor, I also work to doula your partner.

I’m going to be real here…birth is intense, ya’ll. It can be long, exhausting, demanding…it comes with sights, sounds and smells most people aren’t faced with in their lives. There may be times during your labor where your partner needs reassurance, time to process & ground, or the space to eat or rest without the fear or guilt of leaving you alone. It’s also incredibly valuable having your very own certified birth pro nearby to help your partner remember information and goals, cue them to offer certain things, prompt them to advocate for you, or encourage them to try comfort measures when I can see they may be helpful.

In essence, you are the star and your partner is your lead supporting actor. I aim to be the invisible stagehand whispering forgotten lines on opening night, stepping in to assist with scene changes in the dark and working backstage to ensure everything goes as smooth as possible. My goal, my purpose, my passion is to help your partner win “best supporting actor”, not to step in and steal the show.

  • In the event that you go into labor early for whatever reason, I will do everything in my power to make myself available for you. I have never missed a birth due to somebody going into labor early. Due to my “be prepared for anything” nature, I also work with an incredible backup doula who I would trust to be my own doula…in fact, she was my doula…so you can trust that you are in capable, hip-squeezing hands.

  • This is my bread & butter! I can absolutely support your birth experience and document it at the same time.

  • I sure do! I have several packages to choose from, all of which offer a discount for bundling services.

Because let’s be real, this economy is wild.

  • Sure am!

In order to best keep all families and infants safe, I am fully vaccinated and boosted.

    Yay, science!
